Sherrie P. Walker

Sherrie Perrie Walker was born on January 27, 1956, in Philadelphia, PA. She grew up in a blended family and was born to the proud parents Mattie Lee Brown Walker and Albert Walker, Jr. Sherrie attended and graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia, PA. Sherrie worked at Ms. Smith's Daycare Center as a child caregiver, taking care of young children with her sister Shelley (Wendy) in the early 80's. Sherrie had one daughter, Wakitta Aninya Walker (Muffin), from her first union to Gary Jones. She later had a long-term relationship with David Baldwin. In her younger years Sherrie enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and shopping for gold jewelry. She had quite a collection! As she became older, her favorite thing to do was watching movies, especially science fiction and action movies. She loved all animals but had a preference for cats. Over her lifetime, she had several pets. She also enjoyed learning about the Bible, going to church services with her daughter and having Bible study with Sister Mills. To say Sherrie was a "people" was an understatement. She was very outgoing and a friend to anyone she met. As a "giver" and not a "taker", her kindness and compassion for others was genuine. Certainly straight forward, her honesty was refreshing and her humor contagious. She had style and grace. Sherrie was a strong woman and loving mother. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She touched so many lives with her warm and caring heart. Sherrie leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Wakitta; Her stepmother Everjane Walker; brothers and sisters Albert, III, Eleanor, Cynthia, Rochelle, Kenny Ray, Valerie, Shelley (Wendy), Robin, Tracey, Erick, and Derrick; aunts Alice (Gwen) Asbury, Diane and Valory Walker, Hattie Brown Rice, and Helen Brown Dawkins; sisters-in-law Jeannette Walker and Jennifer Walker; brother-in-law Kevin Jordan;and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends. Those who preceded her in death were: both parents, Mattie Lee Brown Walker and Albert M. Walker, Jr.; sister Arlene Gromms; brothers Terry Walton and Vincent Grooms.
