Sylvia M. Caraballo

Sylvia, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, surrounded by her family and friends in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was born on October 30, 1933 in Utuado, Puerta Rico to Jose Casasnovas Soto and Maria Torres Aviles. She married her late husband Jorge Caraballo on April 1, 1953 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Sylvia is survived by her children: Edgar (Magnolia), Henry (Velma), Heriberto (Bridget), Sylvia Caraballo, Alma Valentin (Raul), and David Casasnovas; grandchildren: Elaine DeJesus, Yarimir and Tiffany Alvarado, Jeanette Stock, Edgar, Krystal, Henry, Emmanuel, Antonio, Eddie and Selena Caraballo, Jovanny Padin, Johanna Nieto, Jessica Cruz, Miguel, Nicole and Jorge Vazquez; great grandchildren: Salena, Alexandra, Elaine, Niveya, Thalisha, Jianni, Jayceon and Tyce Rivera, Jayla DeJesus, Ava and Mia Alvarado, Timothy and Grace Stock, Jovanny, Alex, Madison and Skylar Padin, Giselle and Jonathan Delgado, Cesar and Diego Nieto, Jasmere Padilla, Jacob Mora, Athena Bruce, Eli, Ethan, Evan, Antonio, Amelia, Annabella, Isaiah and Emily Caraballo, Ariella and Elliana Vazquez, Tavyon, Aamory and Alana Nunez; and great great grandchildren: Amadeus Lantigua, Mace, Matic, and Messai Jackson and Lila Diaz. Sylvia is also survived by her siblings: Amilcar Casasnovas and Gladys Arroyo. Sylvia is predeceased by her parents and her siblings Elba, Frank and Louis Casasnovas and Carmen Gonzalez. Sylvia was a devoted mother and grandmother and she loved doting on her grandchildren. When not enjoying time with her family, Sylvia could be found playing her favorite slots at the casino. She loved to cook and took great pride and pleasure in being able to cook large meals for her family. She was also a devout Christian and was steadfast in her faith in Christ. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
