Carolyn Steele
April 5, 2020
On April 13, 1949 we were blessed with Angel, Carolyn Alexander. She was born to mother, Cozete (nee Tyner) and father, Earl Alexander who are both no longer with us. She grew up in West Philadelphia and graduated from West Philadelphia High School. All who have been blessed to know her were blessed with an Angel on earth. She would do anything for those who were close to her heart. She was everyone's ear, listening and never judging. Her laugh and her presence were incredibly infectious. You couldn't help but laugh when she laughed. Her sweet spirit and mild manner touched everyone she came in contact with. But beneath that sweet spirit and mild manner was an extremely strong woman. Her sweet spirit and strong will have blessed us throughout her life and even in her last days and last hours with her fight against a very aggressive uterine cancer. As a devout Catholic, she passed away very angelically in her sleep on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020. She didn't leave in any pain, but in total peace. She is survived immediately by her only child, Sheree Steele, and her only grandchild Charisse Griswold, her younger siblings Kathy Carmichael and Anthony Alexander, along with several cousins, aunts and a long list of friends. An Angel on earth has now ascended into Heaven. She will be missed and never forgotten. Due to the pandemic restrictions, a service will not be held at this time. Prayers and strength to everyone to remain safe and virus free during this unusual time we are facing.
