Louise Marion Colvin

Please note that Louise's husband, William, passed away January 13, 2016. Louise and William will have their services together as arranged below. Louise Marion Colvin (nee Lohr), 88, of Symphony Manor, passed away at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. Louise was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 7, 1927 to the late George Lohr and Louise (nee Eichner). Louise is survived by her loving husband, William, of 67 years. William served in the US Marine Corps and they met when she wrote to him during WW II as part of a campaign to boost the morale of the servicemen overseas. Louise is predeceased by her brother, George Lohr; sister, June Malone; and daughter-in-law, Maureen Colvin. Louise is survived by her 3 beloved sons, William R. Colvin (Roslyn) of Fredericksburg, VA; Brian G. Colvin (Susan) of Churchville, PA; and Glen S. Colvin of Gainesville, VA; her 7 cherished grandchildren: Bill, Keith, Kelly, Kacey, Cody, Mike and Brittany and her 4 great-grandsons. After graduating from high school and secretarial school she worked for a firm in the Empire State Building in NYC. After the family moved to Commack, NY she went to work as the church secretary for Holy Cross Lutheran Church also in Commack, NY for many years. Before retiring, she worked for the Suffolk County Council for Social Services. She and Bill raised their family in Commack, Long Island, NY and later moved to Virginia for 10 years and recently Pennsylvania. Louise had a beautiful sense of style that was reflected in the way she dressed and decorated her home. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, her "cup of tea", shopping and above all her family. She'll be especially remembered for her caring and loving involvement in her 7 grandchildren's lives. NOTE; SHOULD THERE BE INCLEMENT WEATHER PREDICTED FOR THE 30TH, PLEASE CHECK BACK TO SEE WHAT DATE THE SERVICES WILL BE HELD. Interment will be Feb. 2, 2016 in Quantico, VA.
