Rose M. Galyean

Rose was a very independent and strong woman who fully enjoyed helping others at any time. She refused assistance or help in return. And let you know in her "stubborn" way she did not need you to reciprocate in any way. She was married to the late Eddie Galyean, Sr. until his death in 1986. She was a good mother to her 4 children Sandi, Dee, Eddie and the late Debbie. She has 5 granddaughters- Tabby, Jacqui, Faith, Melissa, and Crystal, and 7 great grandchildren- Ashley, Mark (Buddy), Timmy, Carolina, Stephanie, John, and Mikey. To all the grandchildren she was known as grandmom Midget. She loved visitors and to cook for everyone who came to see her. She was an awesome cook and always cooked from scratch. She sure did love the compliments that came along with it! Rose loved Bingo, playing cards and going to Atlantic City. She loved to bowl and traveled doing it. Rose would collect magnets from every place in the country she went to. Oh don't move her magnets! "Who moved my magnets!?" Rose was a lover of all animals. As a child, she had 3 baby squirrels and raised them until they could be let go to survive on their own. When the acquired nuts, they would try to hide them in her hair! She always had dogs,cats and birds. She made a wonderful home for her children. They remember the laughter in their home most of all, especially with Grammy Catherine and the kids. Catherine was Rose's cousin and like a sister to her. They were always together and the fun was never ending. When Catherine passed away, it was like a part of Rose was gone also. She was devastated. Now together again, laughing and Catherine saying to Rose, "What took you so long?". One summer she was going to help with the pool. She was to put a capful of Joy dishwashing liquid in the filter-NOT HALF THE BOTTLE! Well, the bubbles were everywhere in the neighbors' yards and over the roof of the house. the kids had so much fun running through all the suds. We still all laugh to tears remembering that story. She closed all of the windows and curtains so Ed wouldn't see it but he asked what all of the white stuff was that was up against the windows. Rose retired when she could no longer see. She wanted to work so much but just couldn't. She then got breast cancer and because of smoking got COPD and CHF. She still smoked until she could no longer get out of the bed. Smoking and coffee and the game show network became her life. She couldn't wait to see her Debbie again. They were best friends and they did everything together. Now she is together again with Debbie, Catherine, and Grammy forever. God reached out His Hand to her tired body and she took it and followed Him!
